Luis-Manuel Garcia
Luis-Manuel Garcia, Music PhD ’11, Hormel Fellow 2010-11, has spent the past academic year as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development. He will be working with the research group "Felt Communities?": Emotions in European Music Performances, preparing a book manuscript based on his doctoral thesis, which focused on affect and intimacy at electronic dance music events in Paris, Berlin, and Chicago. He will also be continuing work on his post-doctoral research project, entitled, "The Techno Jet-Set: Mobility, Tourism, and Class in Berlin's Electronic Dance Music Scenes."
